Exhibition Introduction | Following the success of its inaugural event in 2017, LANKALIVESTOCK’19- Sri Lanka’s No.1 International Feed and Livestock Production Expo returns for its second edition, at the Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre in Colombo from 17-19 January 2019. Over the last decade or so, rapid economic development and a greater dietary involvement of poultry, as well as eggs and fi¬sh has overtaken the Indian subcontinent, Sri Lanka in particular. This has resulted in high growth rates in the processing of feed and in the production and trade of maize, soybeans and other coarse grains and oilseeds. According to the Bartleet Religare Securities (BRS), due to the increasing growth of industries such as tourism, hotel, restaurant and catering with the expansion of urbanisation and fast food culture, the poultry industry holds tremendous potential for growth, leading to improvement in the living standards of Sri Lanka’s population.
